I wanted a heavy duty scale that didn’t cost a fortune, so I got this scale. It’s not a space hog which is nice, and is accurate after performing a few weighing tests with it.

Pros:
- Relatively small but can weight up to 330 pounds.
- Display is not mounted on the scale so you can place large boxes and see what the weight is (that was the problem with my old scale).
- It displays pounds as 1.4 pounds (decimal format) as well as pounds and ounces (2 pounds, 2 ounces). It also displays weight in Kilograms
- Has a tare function
- The weighing area is large enough that a big box could be placed on it and the cable to the display is long enough that the display can be moved out of the way of big boxes.
- Came with a good warranty

Cons:
- The back light in the LCD screen is a bright blue when the scale is weighing (when not weighing, it’s the normal black on gray LCD color)
- When the scale is “off” the LCD displays the time. That’s okay except for it will wear down the battery eventually.

With a HUGE 55 lb weighing capacity, a hold button, and a large easily read display, the ULTRASHIP postal scale is perfect for shipping via UPS, FedEx, DHL, First Class, Priority or Parcel Post mail! Reads in grams, ounces, pounds, or kilograms — you choose! 30 Year Limited Warranty Included. Operates on 4 C Batteries (not included) or optional AC Adaptor (not included).

Huge 55 lb / 25 kg capacity

Removable flex face display for weighing oversized boxes

Letter Tube Holder and Mail/Envelope Holder – Even weigh Kitchen Food Items!

Lifetime / 30 year International Warranty

This scale is perfect for any applications I can think of. Staples didn’t have anything close, and the price is a real baragin. We’re using it to weigh a baby to monitor weight gain, so the low-range accuracy is important. We brought the baby home from the Dr’s office and weighed him again within half an hour and this scale weighs the same as the Dr.’s scale. Especially useful for this application is the tare button, the hold-the-number-on-the-display button and the unit conversion button, so we can track weight in grams but easily tell family about pounds and ounces. This seller got a shipment of the black units in instead of the silver and sent that with a note offering exchange if the color wasn’t satisfactory – I was glad to get the scale right away and must say the black color is probably the best one

When I began selling on eBay some of the many toy train items I’ve collected over the years, I found myself driving ten miles to and from the Post Office almost every day. Then I learned that I could mail packages from my home using the USPS Web site Click-N-Ship feature, getting a discount on postage cost, free delivery confirmation, and a big savings on gasoline by not having to drive across town every time I had a box to be mailed. All I needed was a scale to weigh my outgoing boxes.

The PS-100 10 lb. Desk Top Postal Scale met this need perfectly. It’s accurate and extremely simple to use. The “Hold” feature is particularly convenient if one is weighing a large box that blocks sight of the read-out window. Press “Hold” and the weight remains displayed even after removing the package. I was also surprised at how small and light weight the scale is. It’s perfect for a kitchen counter or desk top and can be easily picked up and moved with one hand.

It’s really proving to be a great time and money-saver, and, of course, it can be used to weigh other things that require accurate measurement in grams, ounces, or pounds-and-ounces. Each of these units of weight can be easily and quickly selected for display. It occurs to me that cooks may find it useful for measuring ingredients by weight (although my wife and I have yet to fight over who gets to use it first!)

Just remember that the scale does have a ten-pound weight limit. It is designed for light-weight, in-home use, so I suspect that it might not be appropriate for a business selling heavier items. Other than that single caution, I find no shortcomings whatsoever in the scale and am entirely pleased with it.

This US post office licensed desk-top sized scale weighs items from .1 ounce up to 10 pounds. Very convenient item for home or office. The unit has a 1.3″ LCD display and easy-to-use buttons. Weight read-out can be switched between ounces and grams. The scale top has a flip-up easel to allow for large envelope weighing. (This product does not connect to the USPS.)

Extra large 1.3″ LCD display screen

Weight range from .1 ounce to 10 pounds with .1ounce resolution

Automatic shut-off

Switchable between ounces and grams

Star IV adapter included – can also run on 3 AA’s (not included)

Do you need postage weighing scales. If you answered no you may want to take a step back for a second and think about what you are doing. The fact of the matter is that the majority of people will never need a scale. But with that being said, some people would benefit greatly by having a one. For instance, business owners need scales in order to work with efficiency and accuracy. After all, if you have to send out a lot of mail each day it is going to be quite difficult if you do not have a postage scale to rely on.

Before you can buy a them you need to know what is available. Just like any other purchase you will want to make sure that you are getting the item that is best for you and your budget. If you neglect to look at all of the different postage weighing scales you may end up making a bad decision in the end. Generally speaking, there are two types that you can purchase. They are as follows.

1. A manual or mechanical postage scale is quite common. These may seem a bit old to you, but all in all they still offer many benefits to the user. A manual scale uses either a spring or a balance in order to weigh the mail. When you use a them you will only be able to get the weight of your mail. You will then have to reference a postage chart of sorts in order to make a decision as to how much you will need to add. Even though manual scales cost less than other options, there is also more chance for error because you will have to read the scale on your own.

2. Your other option is a digital postage scale. These are also known as electronic postage scales, and use a digital readout in order to give you information on how much your mail weighs. In addition, some digital postage scales have rate information programmed in them as well. This allows you to skip having to use a chart to find out the price. In today’s day and age digital postage scales are the most popular choice. They may cost a bit more, but in the long run they cut down on a lot of headaches.

If you own a business it is safe to say that you will want to have a postage weighing scales that you can rely on. This way you will know how much postage to put on your packages without having to make a guess. All in all this will go a long way in saving you money.

Welcome to postagescale.info. your one stop information website on postage scales. If you send a lot of envelopes and packages, you just can not do without a postage scale. Correct postage scales will save you a lot of money in the long run. You will need to consider a few things when buying one of these scales. This article will give you a few tips for buying postage scales.

Type

One of the first things you need to consider when buying postage scales is the type. You will have to choose between a manual and digital scale. Manual postage scales require that you read the weight from a needle, which can increase the chance of making an error. The digital variety are much easier to read.

Rate Changes

You will also have to think about rate changes when buying postage scales. Every so often, postage rates will increase and you will need to update the scale to reflect the changes. With some designs, you will have to replace chips inside the scale in order to update it. This can be expensive and time-consuming. You may want to consider buying postage scales that can download updates from the internet.

Comparison

If you’re normally a comparison shopper, then you may want to buy a scale that will allow you to compare rates. These postage scales will give you the different rates for different classes of mail such as First and Standard class rates. Some scales will even give rates from different companies such as DHL and UPS.

Weight

One of the next things you need to think about when buying postage scales is the average weight of your packages. If you usually send big packages, then you will need to buy a scale that can handle heavier weights. This isn’t a concern if you typically send small envelopes. You should also make sure that the weighing platform will be large enough to handle your packages.

Lock

One of the next things you should look for in postage scales is a lock. An automatic lock will keep the reading on the screen after you remove the package. This is useful when you’re using postage scales to weigh packages that prevent you from reading the display.

These are a few tips for buying postage scales. It’s best to get a design that can download updates from the internet so that you don’t have to keep replacing chips. You may also want to look for postage scales that will compare rates from different companies such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL.
